I have started a business!

I am busy! I sent out some messages to a few, very special stores with my lookbook, I have posted some QR codes around my city with little rip-off tabs for Pansy Sundays. The sad part about that is my QR code expired after a couple of days because I used some janky website and didn’t want to pay top dollar for it… whatever, you live and you learn.

And today my partner helped send emails and accidentally sent out a bunch from his account. So he changed his Gmail handle so it actually matches my brand messaging. LOL.

As I said — you live and you learn.

Today I went around and dropped off real letters with a little film photo of my product and some wholesale prices to shops, addressed to the owners.

Some of the stores were closed, but I did manage to visit 7 shops around the city in two hours. I felt really good about that. I rewarded myself and my partner with coffee soft serve from a local café. So yum — especially because this heat wave really had us melting.

I get a little nervous before going out into the wild trying to sell myself. It’s very daunting in person. Way more than it is online. I mean, here I am sharing my thoughts with you, I guess.

I’ll just say I had something to take the edge off before this adventure, because honestly, I needed to chill out.

I set goals for myself each day regarding Pansy Sundays, and it makes me feel like I’m actively working toward something. Sounds silly, but it just makes me feel better.

Right now I’m at the point where if someone asks me about it, I have a script in my head — the brand, the values, the products I’ve designed, all of it. Not just because I’ve said it so many times to people (I have), but because I genuinely respect the brand and feel like I really know it. Of course it’s an extension of me. But PS is something really special to me.

At the end of the day, it makes me happy to have my own brand with accessories I’ve designed — because that’s something I’ve wanted for way too long, and I can’t help but feel like it’s going to work.

I have always felt that I would be successful and accomplish my dreams. Yes, I’m an anxious, easily overwhelmed, nervous person — but I’m also someone who is so, so, so passionate about my dreams. It may take me a while to get there, but I have always felt that good things take time.

That’s why the logo is a snail. I thought it made sense for PS.
